# The C.I.T.E. Framework™ a practical search workflow.

Quick answer The C.I.T.E. Framework™ is Elite Digital Agency's methodology for making brands citable by AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. It stands for Crawlability, Intent & usefulness, Trust signals and Entity corroboration — the four pillars that determine whether AI systems can find, extract, trust and verify your content.

Our framework is a planning method, not an engine-endorsed ranking standard. It follows Google’s current AI optimisation guidance. Reviewed 8 September 2026.

      C

## Crawlability

AI crawlers can access and render the site.

 I

## Intent & usefulness

Information organised around a useful decision.

 T

## Trust signals

Machines can verify the page is credible.

 E

## Entity corroboration

The wider web confirms who you are.

## C — Crawlability

### What it is

Check whether intended search crawlers can fetch the relevant page. Googlebot, OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot have search roles; GPTBot and Google-Extended represent separate training or product controls.

### What we do

We review the actual robots rules, indexing directives, responses, canonicals and sitemap. We fix unintended access barriers and preserve intentional privacy or training choices. Optional machine-readable exports are maintained for integrations, not sold as Google ranking requirements.

### How it's measured

Declared crawler policy, observed response behaviour, valid sitemap URLs and indexing information from the available webmaster accounts. These checks are separate from evidence of citations.

## I — Intent & usefulness

### What it is

Start with the reader’s question and the decision they need to make. Use clear explanations, relevant examples and a sensible page structure. Google does not require fixed-length chunks or question-shaped headings for AI Search.

### What we do

We map buyer questions to useful pages, explain the scope and alternatives, and add evidence that distinguishes the work. Tables, lists and FAQs are used when they improve understanding, without a required word count or schema-driven citation promise.

### How it's measured

Review whether the page resolves the intended question and supports an appropriate next action. Track relevant search performance and dated answer observations separately.

## T — Trust signals

### What it is

Engines prefer sources they can verify as legitimate: structured data that parses, named human authorship, visible dates, secure delivery and transparent commercial details. Anonymous, undated, schema-free pages are easy to ignore.

### What we do

We implement Organisation, Service, Article and Breadcrumb schema, attribute content to named authors with real profiles, show published and last-verified dates, enforce security headers, and publish transparent pricing and verifiable company details — registered name, company number and address.

### How it's measured

Schema validation across templates, authorship and date coverage on editorial content, and the presence of pricing and company-identity signals on every key page.

## E — Entity corroboration

### What it is

An AI engine trusts your claims when independent sources agree with them. Entity corroboration means your name, address, founder and identifiers are identical everywhere — your site, Companies House, LinkedIn and review platforms — and that third parties reference you.

### What we do

We align your entity data across schema, Companies House, LinkedIn and review profiles, then earn third-party citations through reviews, directories, digital PR and original research published on sites AI engines already trust.

### How it's measured

Entity-consistency audits across the major platforms, growth in third-party mentions and reviews, and monthly tracking of whether AI engines cite your brand for priority questions.

## C.I.T.E. Framework™ Questions

**What does C.I.T.E. stand for?**

C.I.T.E. stands for Crawlability, Intent & usefulness, Trust signals and Entity corroboration. It is Elite Digital Agency's four-pillar methodology for making a brand citable by AI answer engines: crawlers must be able to access your content, the content must be structured as extractable answers, machines must be able to verify it is credible, and the wider web must corroborate who you are.

**Is the C.I.T.E. Framework™ only for AI search?**

No — the four pillars overlap heavily with classic SEO, because AI engines are built on the same foundations. Crawlability and technical health drive Google rankings as well as AI crawler access; answer-first structure wins featured snippets as well as AI citations; trust signals and entity corroboration strengthen E-E-A-T across both. We run SEO, AEO and GEO as one integrated discipline, not separate products.

**How do you measure whether the framework is working?**

Each pillar has its own checks: crawler access and indexation for Crawlability; snippet and AI Overview capture for Intent & usefulness; schema validation and authorship/date coverage for Trust signals; and entity-consistency audits plus third-party mention growth for Entity corroboration. On top, we monitor monthly whether and how AI engines cite your brand for your priority questions, and report on it.

**Can I check my own site against the framework?**

Our free GEO audit checks observable page structure, metadata and crawler policies. Its score is a diagnostic summary, not evidence of expertise or a prediction of AI citations. A deeper review examines the information, business context and measurement as well.
